Description:
Occasional sand breaks and permanent rocky point break. Look for northerly or north-easterly winds. Strong undertow and rips.

Experience and caution needed – not recommended for beginners

Access:
Dirt road suited to all cars but caution on the gravel roads as always.

On days of no swell exceptional diving is to be had off the point and the main beach area is very good for fishing from.

Hanson Bay boasts a Wildlife Reserve that has numerous Koalas that can be seen at close quarters. This is a special treat for all people going to the Western end of Kangaroo Island and it is off the South Coast Road near Flinders Chase National Park.
